Cuban Oregano

95.00

Contrary to its name, Cuban Oregano (plectranthus amboinicus) does not originate from Cuba and for that matter isn’t even related to true Oregano. However, its smell closely resembles that of Oregano, giving off a strong menthol or camphor scent and is often found added to “jerk” seasoning blends, salsas, and bean dishes for local cuisines in Cuba, Philippines, and India. Cuban Oregano leaves are also used in traditional medicine to treat sore throats, colds, coughs, nasal congestion, and infections.
