Peppermint (mentha balsamea wild) is a hybrid mint, a cross between watermint and spearmint. Indigenous to Europe and the Middle East, the plant is now widely spread and cultivated in many regions of the world including the Philippines. Peppermint is a source of menthol and menthone, and is among the oldest herbs used for both culinary and medicinal purposes.

Roots will likely be present at the time of purchase but can take an additional 1-3 weeks to form at which time the cuttings may be transferred to soil if desired. Some cuttings may not develop roots due to external factors which is normal with any plant propagation.
